How to Reach Leh-
By Air - Leh is the nearest airport, which is connected to Delhi, Chandigarh and Srinagar, there are daily flight from domestic carriers for Leh via Delhi.
By Road – Leh can reach by Road also either by Srinagar or by Manali. Srinagar is approx. 430 kms from Leh reach via, Sonamarg, Zoji-La pass, Kargil so guest who is looking for thrilling road trip can opt for this option night stay at Kargil is essential to reach Leh from Srinagar
Via – Manali; - Manali-Leh road of 473 kms, since 1989 has been another route to Ladakh. This route is open from mid-June to early October. The road passes through the desert plateau of Rupsho and is around 3,660m to 4,570m high. There are a number of high passes falling on the route, Taklang-La being second highest motorable road in the world, 17,469 feet (5,235m) above the sea level. Night stay at Sarchu is recommendable there are deluxe camps available to accommodate guest.
By Rail - There is no rail connectivity directlly to Leh however, You can get down to Chandigarh and come via Manali or get down to Jammu railway station and come via Srinagar.
Best time to See Leh Ladakh-
The best time to visit Leh is between May and September, when the weather is the warmest. Ladakh doesn't experience rain like elsewhere in India, so the monsoon season is the perfect time to travel to Leh.
Must see places in Leh Ladakh –
Leh;-Leh is the capital of Ladakh and also the largest town there. Leh was once the capital of Ladakh Kingdom and therefore has many historical places and monasteries. It has become a tourist hub and is connected with Srinagar and Manali by road and can even be reached by air. Leh bazzar, magnetic hill, leh monasteries are some of the best places to see in Leh.
Pangong Lake; - Pangong Lake seemed to be the favourite destination for many tourists visiting Ladakh. Few years back it was a beautiful brackish lake known to very few people. It got popularized after it was shown on the blockbuster movie 3 idiots, Jab tak hai Jaan. After that tourists have increased manifold. Pangong Lake may be perhaps one of the most beautiful high altitude lakes in the world. It can be reached after 6 hours’ drive from Leh. Night stay at deluxe camp is the best experience that one can take it gives some of the awesome view of mountain at late evening.
Tsomoriri Lake: - Tsomoriri lake is another high altitude Lake but less visited than Pangong. The Lake is pristine and exotic. It is also a breeding ground for many migratory birds and so a good place for bird watchers. There are deluxe camps available near to lake for the stay.
Khardungla Pass; - Located at an altitude of 5,360 meters, Khardungla Pass is among the highest motorable roads around the world. It is continuously overflown with slush of mud and melted ice water. The 2,000 meters climb from Leh to Khardungla will offer some exciting view of Leh and the mountains beyond, i.e., the Zanskar Range. Guest can take a halt or seat for some time to take the experience of this place.
Nubra Valley :- Nubra valley is a MUST VISIT places in Ladakh especially if you are visiting for the first time.The Shyok river, a tributary of Indus river, meets the Nubra or Siachen river to form a large valley that separates the Ladakh and Karakorum Ranges. The ultra-wide landscapes, humongous mountain faces, lovely trails, wide variety of colors and musical Shyok river flowing midst the valley will take your breath away at first sight. Climbing to very high altitude of Khardung La from Leh and then sleeping at low altitude of Nubra Valley DOES HELP tremendously in acclimatization.
Kargil – If you are planning to come by road then Kargil is a must visit place a night stay is recommendable after a long 6 hours’ drive from Sonamarg.
